Curriculum Vitae

Biosketch

Panagiotis Klonos received his degree in “Applied Mathematical and Physical Sciences’’ by the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in 2007, his MSc in “Microsystems and Nanodevices” in NTUA in 2009 and his PhD in Physics in 2015. He is currently postdoc researcher in the Physics department of NTUA. He performs Broadband Dielectric Relaxation Spectroscopy (BDS or else DRS), Thermally Stimulated Depolarization Currents (TSDC), Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) , water Equilibrium and Dynamic Sorption Isotherm (ESI and DSI), Thermal Diffusivity/Conductivity (LFA) measurements on amorphous and semicrystalline polymers, polymer nanocomposites, ‘all-polymer nanocomposites’ and hydrogel materials. His main interests are the studies of the dynamics and structure of the interfacial polymer in nanocomposites (or else rigid amorphous fraction, RAF), moreover, aiming at the understanding of structure-property relationships and the effects of different: preparation philoshophy, thermal/crystallization treatment and water content of the materials. More lately, Dr Klonos investigates biobased and biodegradable polymers, such as poly(n-alkylene furan dicarboxylate) polyesters, poly(lactic acid), poly(ε-caprolactone), poly(n-alkylene succinate)s, poly(butylene adipate), in bulk and in the form of nanocomposites, copolymers and drug-delivery systems (in close collaboration with the group of Prof. Dimitrios N. Bikiaris, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, https://bikiarislab.wixsite.com/bikiarislab). The published work of Dr. Klonos consists of 81 papers in peer-review international journals, 3 book chapters, and more than 55 contributions to international and national scientific conferences.
