Dr Emmanuel Logakis graduated from the University of Patras in 2003 with a Diploma in Physics. He obtained his MSc in “Materials Science and Technology” in 2005 and his PhD on the “Synthesis of polymer nanocomposites and the study of their electrical and thermomechanical properties” in 2009, both at the National Technical University of Athens. From 2010 to 2011 he worked as a Research Fellow in Cranfield University in the UK, leading the development and implementation of hybrid nanocomposite materials in aerospace applications. Currently, he is working in the Corporate Research Center of ABB in Switzerland in the group "Insulation and Polymer Technologies".

  • Structure-property relationships in polymer nanocomposites (thermal, mechanical, electrical/dielectric properties)
  • Charge transport and dielectric breakdown mechnanisms in polymeric materials
  • Conductive polymer nanocomposites and hybrid fibrous composites containing carbon nanoparticles (CNTs, graphene)
  • Processing of polymer nanocomposites
