Dr. Kyritsis Apostolos is Associate Professor at the Physics Department, National Technical University of Athens - NTUA, Greece. He teaches elementary Physics and special topics of Physics of Dielectric Materials, Materials Science, and Advanced Technological Materials at under-graduate level. At post- graduate level he participates in three MSc Programmes teaching special topics of Nanomaterials, Glasses and Nanocomposites, and Organic Nanomaterials. He is main coordinator/partner in international and national projects. He has published more than 110 journal papers, more than 35 papers in conference proceedings and 4 book chapters. He has more than 200 contributions to international conferences and more than 40 to national conferences. Dr Kyritsis has been involved in national and international standardisation activities working at the Greek National Standardization Body (ELOT) between 2000 and 2005 and is strongly interested in metrology aspects of experimental measurements.

  • Dielectric, thermal, calorimetric and vapor sorption studies in ionic crystals, ceramics, polymers and complex polymeric systems
  • Structure-property relationships in polymers, biopolymers, nanocomposites
  • Hydration properties of inorganic and organic (polymers, biomaterials) materials
  • Confinement effects on adsorbed water molecules, organic solvents and macromolecules. The confining medium can be porous materials, intercalated clays, cross linked polymeric chains.
  • Stimuli responsive behavior of novel polymeric systems
